Né le 8 Décembre 1976 à Berlin en Allemagne.
La carrière de Dominic Monaghan débute en 1996 avec son rôle dans la série britannique "Hetty Wainthropp investigates", diffusée sur la BBC-1. Après deux téléfilms en 2000, "This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper" et "Monsignor Renard", il est engagé par Peter Jackson pour sa trilogie du Seigneur des anneaux : La communauté de l'anneau, Les deux tours et Le retour du roi. En 2004, J.J. Abrams en fait l'un des survivants du crash dans sa nouvelle création Lost, les disparus

Biographie

Acteur né le 13 janvier 1977 à Canterbury, Kent, en Angleterre.
Aujourd'hui réclamé par Hollywood, Orlando Bloom peut savourer sa réussite. Car sa vie n'a pas toujours été de tout repos. Son père décède alors qu'il n'a que 4 ans. Ses études sont difficiles à cause de sa dyslexie. A 14 ans, sa mère lui apprend finalement que son père décédé n'était pas le vrai ! Adolescent, il faillit même devenir paralysé en tombant du troisième étage d'un immeuble. Bref, sa maladie, plus la découverte que Superman est en fait un acteur... le pousse à devenir acteur. A 16 ans, il débute son apprentissage au National Youth Theatre de Londres puis rejoint la British American Drama Academy. En 1997, il décroche son premier rôle dans le film Wilde consacré à Oscar Wilde. Malgré plusieurs autres propositions, il décide de terminer ses études. Bonne idée car après le Seigneur des anneaux et son personnage de l'Elfe et archer Legolas, il devient un acteur très recherché. Il tourne dans La Chute du Faucon noir de Ridley Scott, Pirates des Caraïbes, Troie, Haven, Kingdom of Heaven et dernièrement Elizabethtown.
Sa dernière laison connue est Kate Bosworth dont il s'est séparés en 2005 il y a peu.

Biographie

Né en 1958 à New York, de père danois et de mère américaine, Viggo Mortensen passe son enfance à Manhattan avant de suivre sa famille en Argentine, au Vénézuela et au Danemark. Retour ensuite dans la Grande Pomme, où il apprend l'art dramatique au Theater Workshop de Warren Robertson. Sa passion du théâtre le pousse à créer la pièce "Bent", qui remporte un vif succès à Los Angeles et lui vaut un prix de la critique. Il se fait remarquer au cinéma en 1985 dans "Witness", l'excellent film policier de Peter Weir, mais se retrouve ensuite cantonné dans des productions de seconde zone, dont "Prison" et "Massacre à la tronçonneuse III". Il lui faut attendre 1991 pour que Sean Penn réalisateur révèle son très grand talent dans "The Indian Runner". L'acteur y incarne un ex-taulard dont le frère tente de canaliser l'extrême violence : une composition à la Marlon Brando qui aurait dû le propulser parmi les plus grands. Mais si les tournages s'enchaînent à bon rythme, Viggo Mortensen ne retrouve pas de rôles aussi marquants. Abonné aux seconds couteaux, notamment dans "L'impasse", "Darkly Noon", "USS Alabama", "Albino alligator" ou encore "Portrait de femme", le comédien se retrouve aussi embarqué dans le catastrophique "A armes égales", en instructeur sauvage de Demi Moore. Ce qui explique peut-être la multiplicité de ses activités parallèles, de la littérature poétique ("Ten Last Night") à la sortie de deux CD de jazz alternatif. On l'a aperçu au bras de Gwyneth Paltrow, épouse volage de Michael Douglas dans "Meurtre parfait", et il a participé à un autre remake, celui de "Psychose", sous la direction de Gus Van Sant. Toutefois, sa prestation la plus spectaculaire demeure celle d'Aragorn dans la trilogie du "Seigneur des Anneaux".

Biographie

C'est dès son plus jeune âge que Ian McKellen ambitionne de devenir acteur. Il joue pendant ses études à Cambridge. En 1961, il décroche son premier rôle professionnel dans la pièce A man for all seasons (Un homme pour l'éternité). En 1965, il intègre la National Theatre Company de Laurence Olivier. Cette passion pour le théâtre lui vaudra de recevoir les plus grandes récompenses en ce domaine.

Des planches au grand écran, il n'y a qu'un pas que McKellen franchit en 1969 dans A touch of love de Waris Hussein. On le retrouve par la suite dans de nombreux films dont La Forteresse noire (1983), Zina (1985), Walter and June (1986). Mais, c'est en 1988 avec Scandal réalisé par Michael Caton-Jones que sa carrière cinématographique prend un tournant décisif.

Cet habitué de Shakespeare, qui joue dans Richard III (1996), n'hésite pas à apparaître dans des films aux univers très hétéroclites comme The Shadow en 1994, ou des drames historiques comme Le Don du roi (1995), Bent (1996), Un élève doué (1997) ou encore Au coeur de la tourmente (id.). Le passage dans le 3ème millénaire le projette réellement loin des classiques victoriens puisqu'il joue dans les deux épisodes de X-Men (2000) et X-Men 2 (2003), ainsi que dans la trilogie du Seigneur des anneaux où il interprète le magicien Gandalf.
